Diplomatic Relations, European Union, Minister Charles Flanagan, Press Releases, Europe, 2017

The President of the Republic of Croatia will pay a State visit to Ireland next month.

‘I am delighted to announce that H.E. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, President of the Republic of Croatia, accompanied by her husband, Mr Jakov Kitarović, will be making a State Visit to Ireland from 3 -5 April. Ireland and Croatia enjoy a warm friendship, both bilaterally and as members of the European Union. It will be an honour for Ireland to welcome the President, and the visit will provide opportunities to further strengthen and develop our ties. The President will visit the city of Galway, which, along with her own homeplace of Rijeka, will be European Capitals of Culture in 2020.  The visit will also be an opportunity for the President to meet some of the more than 10,000 strong Croatian community that we are delighted to host. ‘
